1. Muraille de Chine - Xiaolongbao

My favorite #GirlEatWorld moment of 2015 goes to the Great Wall of China! I think it goes without saying why this was such an amazing experience. It definitely ticked off one of my bucket list! It's already 2016 in Singapore now! It has been an amazing year for me. I wish you all a very happy new year and awesome travel this year! 😊

2. Sydney (Australie) - Biscuit au chocolat Tim Tam

3rd favorite #GirlEatWorld moment in 2015 - Having a dark chocolate Tim Tams at the Circular Quay in Sydney 🇦🇺. I went to Australia for two weeks in May with @yhaaustralia. It was such a life changing trip! I got to meet awesome people in the city too: @nancyonathan, @jimmyeatsw0rld, Vinh and @kirra_811. Why Tim Tams? The chocolate biscuit is pretty much synonymous with Australia. There are tons of variety but my favorite is still the dark chocolate one! And also the raspberry one by Adriano Zumbo 😉 What's your favorite Tim Tams? Comment 👇🏻 and let me know Sydney Opera House were only opened 42 years ago, but it has today become the most recognizable symbol of Sydney. In 2007, the building was listed as UNESCO World Heritage site, describing it as great urban sculpture set in a remarkable waterscape, at the tip of a peninsula projecting into Sydney Harbour. My tip: Walk across the Harbour Bridge to see different sides of the opera house for free! #SeeAustralia #RestaurantAustralia

3. Istanbul (Turquie) -  Kandil Simidi

#GirlEatWorld Kandil Simidi by @sezyilmaz with a view of Istanbul on top of Galata Tower 🇹🇷. Kandil Simidi is a bread ring decorated with sesame seeds which are shared with relatives and neighbor during the Islamic holy nights Kandil. There are five kandils in a year, and one that just passed by this past December 22/23 is the Mevlid Kandili - the birth of prophet Mohammad. The day is usually celebrated by a sermon, remembrance of the Prophet's life and mission, gift giving and a feast. Sounds familiar right? 😉 This holy night is also celebrated in Indonesia, my birth country under the name Maulid Nabi. I heard it caused quite the traffic jam with people trying to go back to their home town out of Jakarta for both Christmas and Maulid Nabi (which does not fall on the same date every year) 😅

4. George Town Penang (Malaisie) - 70's Ice Ball

#GirlEatWorld by @yvonne_shien 70's Ice Ball. These are a perfect sphere of shaved ice with flavored syrup. Looks like an odd treat, but you'd be glad to have this on your hand when walking around Armenian street looking for street arts! ☀️🔥 I was told this used to be a favorite in Singapore as well, but we don't seem to have it anymore.

5. Tokyo (Japon) - Beignet Hello Kitty

Happy Monday! Missing this Hello Kitty donut at the organized chaos of the shibuya crossing in Tokyo 🇯🇵🍩. The Shibuya "scramble" crossing is well known for people watching and a must visit while in Tokyo. When the traffic lights turn red, pedestrians would pour out from all sides and meet in the middle of the intersection. I find it very calming to watch from afar. Also, Hachiko statue is in one of the corners of this intersection! --- I've been spending some time re-learning Japanese through iknow.jp and I love it so much! To my fellow 日本語 learners, i highly recommend checking out iknow.jp @iknowjp to review your kanji, listening skills and vocabularies. It makes the learning process super fun compared to using flash cards! However, this app will not teach Japanese from scratch - you have to use this in conjunction of a text book since they do not teach you grammar. I wish apps like this existed when I was learning Japanese in college! You can also learn other language like Chinese and English for SAT learners #iKnowjp

6. Lombok (Indonésie) - soupe de Bakso

🇲🇨🍜 #tbt to This delicious bowl of Bakso in Gili Trawangan island in Lombok, Indonesia. Ask any Indonesian about Bakso and i'm sure you would be met with excitement. It's a small bowl of yellow noodles, meatballs and fresh beansprouts in clear beef broth, served with fried shallots, chili and kecap (sweet soy sauce). Bakso is traditionally sold on the street in a small push cart (called "gerobak" in Indonesian) that would go around the neighborhood during supper time and you have to catch the bakso guy at the right time. Because of its small portion, we normally eat it as snacks for supper or midday between meals. Nowadays you can also get them at restaurants for a meal-sized bowl. We got this off a push cart in Gili for $2 and proceeded to eat it on the side of the street. It may not be the healthiest or most hygienic thing, but two months later @singasongjess and I are still dreaming about this Bakso...

7. Paris (France) - Tartelette aux fraises

🇫🇷🍓 Happy Wednesday everyone! Today I'm super excited to let you know Fat Tire Paris (@FatTireParis) is giving away a FREE TRIP TO PARIS FOR TWO. This includes flights, accommodation and custom itinerary with Fat Tire tours in the magical city of love! Contest ends on 30 September. 🔝👆🏻Click the link in my bio for info! How do I know about Fat Tire tours? 🚲 When I went on my europe trip two years ago, looong before #GirlEatWorld was born, I booked a day tour with Fat Tire tours to see the city of Berlin on a bike. I ended up enjoying the day so much that I came back the next day and did another half day tour with them. The best way to really experience a city is on a bike! Since then, I have been recommending this tour to my friends who visit Europe. I hope one of you gets the chance to experience the tour too 😁 #FatTireParisGiveAway #FatTireParis #sp

8. Hong Kong (Chine) - Gai Daan Zai

Dear Hong Kong, thank you for being my home for the past two weeks while I am here for work! Since i have been to Hong Kong so many times, i feel like i have tried all the traditional snacks. But fear not, here is something a bit different - this is a modern take on the well-loved traditional snack Gai Daan Zai (also called eggette) from @oddiesfoodies in Wan Chai. Their eggettes have different flavors combined with yummy ice cream, making it a very unique complex dessert! The one I had is called "The Night Wolf", which is chocolate chip eggette served with 66% dark chocolate gelato, brownies, passion fruit panna cotta, carmelized banana ice cream and crunchy flakes. Winner! (Thanks @cultoflee and @nativenowhere for taking me here 😊) #notsponsored #GirlEatHK

9. Penang (Malaisie ) - Char Koay Teow

Penang Char Koay Teow is a MUST-eat popular street side food consisting of Koay Teow (white flat rice noodle) stir fried with chives, eggs 🐣, crunchy bean sprouts and prawns 🍤. You won't run out of options for great Char Koay Teow in Penang, but whichever one you choose make sure it is cooked on charcoal! 🔥 In my opinion this is the only way to achieve that burnt smoky aroma characteristic to this dish. The one i went to is Kafe Heng Huat with the red hat auntie in Lorong Selamat, which was super tasty but a bit controversial due to the attitude of the chef auntie. I still recommend it though! Definitely has that smokey taste I craved for. Check out my snapchat for some snaps from Penang! ▶️ 👻 Girleatworld ◀️ #GirlEatPenang
